    【目的】明确红火蚁种群动态的生境特异性及其驱动因素。【方法】本研究于华南地区选取桃园、柚园、水库岸与河岸4类生境,系统监测了其蚁巢体积、工蚁密度及巢群更替的变化。【结果】红火蚁的季节动态与巢群更替模式存在显著生境差异:桃园中工蚁密度在春季(446头·诱饵-1)与秋季(470头·诱饵-1)达到较高水平,秋季巢体积最大(15 206 cm3),并伴随新巢密度上升(0.016巢·m-2)。柚园呈秋冬增长模式,工蚁密度由夏季的127头·诱饵-1增加至秋季的231头·诱饵-1,冬季巢体积为6 316 cm3,新巢密度达到全年最高(0.024巢·m-2)。相比之下,水库岸的工蚁密度始终较低(春季123头·诱饵-1;秋季106头·诱饵-1),新巢数量变化平缓。河岸生境中巢体积随季节持续下降(春季10 322 cm3,冬季6 448 cm3),秋冬新巢密度显著偏低。相关性分析与结构方程模型共同表明,红火蚁种群对气候因子的响应具有显著的生境特异性。【结论】本研究揭示了不同生境下红火蚁季节动态的差异化特征,为理解其在不同区域的发生规律提供了参考。

    Abstract:

    【Aim】To clarify habitat-specific population dynamics of the red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta) and the factors driving these dynamics behind.【Method】We selected four habitat types—peach plantation, pomelo plantation, reservoir bank, and riverbank—in southern China and systematically monitored changes in nest volume, worker density, and colony turnover.【Result】Pronounced habitat-dependent differences existed in seasonal dynamics and colony turnover patterns. In the peach plantation, worker density reached high levels in spring (446 workers · bait-1) and autumn (470 workers · bait-1), and nest volume peaked in autumn (15 206 cm3), which was accompanied by an increase in the density of new nests (0.016 nests · m-2). S. invicta in the pomelo plantation exhibited an autumn-winter growth pattern, with worker density increasing from 127 (workers · bait-1) in summer to 231 (workers · bait-1) in autumn, nest volume reaching 6 316 cm3 in winter, and the density of new nests peaking throughout the year (0.024 nests · m-2). In contrast, the reservoir bank showed consistently low worker density (123 workers · bait-1 in spring and 106 workers · bait-1 in autumn) and a stable number of new nests. In the riverbank, nest volume declined continuously across seasons (from 10 322 cm3 in spring to 6 448 cm3 in winter), and the density of new nests was significantly lower in autumn and winter. Correlation analyses combined with structural equation modeling demonstrated that population responses of S. invicta to climatic factors were strongly habitat-specific.【Conclusion】This study highlights differentiated seasonal dynamics of S. invicta across habitats and provides insights into the occurrence patterns of this ant in different regions.
