Abstract:Oryctes rhinoceros is an important pest on Cocos nucifera, Elaeis guineensis Jacq. and other tropical woody oil crops. In this paper, the morphology, biology, distribution and invasiveness of O. rhinoceros were described, and its risk was qualitatively evaluated. The results indicated that O. rhinoceros has high risk to C. nucifera and E. guineensis with the risk value 2.0. Meanwhile, the control strategy was put forward combining with biological, physical, chemical, agricultural and plant quarantine methods, so as to provide reference for the hazard assessment and prevention of O. rhinoceros.
