Abstract:[Aim] To understand the entering risk of pests in the vegetables from Taiwan to Mainland of China.[Method] The numerical data of the entry ports,intercepted pests and host plants of the vegetable from 2014 to June 2019 were tabulated and analyzed.[Result] No pests were inspected in 3 batch times of the fresh vegetables entered from Taiwan to Mainland China. However, in the vegetable seeds entered from Taiwan to Mainland, a total of 48 species and 496 species of pests were inspected and intercepted, including 454 species of fungus, 2 species of virus, 1 species of bacterium, 2 species of insects, 37 species of weed and 1 species of carrying soil.[Conclusion] The vegetable seeds from Taiwan carried a wide variety of pests, other than those usually targeted for quarantine. We propose several strategies and technical tactics for enhancing the port inspection and quarantine of the vegetables entering Mainland China from Taiwan, including intensifying regulations, mastering epidemic dynamic and strengthening quarantine work.
