Abstract:The codling moth, Cydia pomonella , is one of the most damaging pests in fruit orchards. It was first introduced to Dunhuang in 1987. Since 2005, the codling moth has become a serious pest in Hexi region of Gansu Province. Series of control and monitoring programs have been developed, and a lot of research on the occurrence regularity and control techniques of the moth have been carried out. This paper introduces the status of occurrence and control for the codling moth in Gansu, and the research advancement done on the biology, ecology and control technology of the species. Such information could be useful for its integrated management in China.
